You can also combine pickup in the city center with a return at one of Milan's airports (Linate or Malpensa), or vice versa - according to your plan and schedule. This way, you save transition time and can adapt the rental to your pace. Operating times vary between companies and branches, and some stations operate on limited hours on Sundays or afternoons; therefore, it is recommended to coordinate your arrival time with the opening hours of your chosen station, to save time and ensure speedy delivery.
To enjoy the experience without surprises, it is worthwhile to prepare in advance: ensure that your Israeli license is accompanied by a valid international driving permit, and bring a physical credit card in the name of the primary driver for the deposit. If an automatic transmission is important to you, book an automatic category in advance – demand in Milan is high. Within the city, there are restricted traffic zones (ZTL), including Area C and Area B; it is recommended to check entry and parking rules in advance to avoid fines. If you plan to travel to the lakes or the Alps, remember that on some roads in the Lombardy region, there is a winter requirement for winter tires or chains. Credit Card and Deposit
A physical credit card in the name of the primary driver is usually required to release a deposit. Ensure available credit for the entire rental period; debit/digital cards are sometimes not accepted at the pickup counter.
Check Insurance Coverage
Typically, basic coverage with a deductible is included. Check what is not covered (windows, tires, roof, and underside), the deductible amount, and consider expanding coverage according to the destination and driving style.
Required Documents and International License
Bring a passport, valid Israeli driver's license, and in some countries an international permit. Ensure full name matching on the documents and voucher and adhere to age and driving experience requirements.
Pickup/Return Out of Hours
Check opening hours and Out of Hours fees. Returning to a locked box leaves responsibility on you until checked; photograph the car condition, mileage, and fuel gauge and keep delivery/key.
