What is the minimum age for renting a car in North Macedonia through Auto Europe Israel, and is there an additional charge for young drivers?
The minimum age is 21, usually with at least two years of driving experience. Young drivers (usually aged 21-24) are subject to a young driver surcharge paid per day, which may vary between Europcar branches and by vehicle group. Some categories require a minimum age of 25. The surcharge amount will be displayed during booking through Auto Europe Israel and on the voucher.
Is an Israeli driving license enough, or is an international license required?
In North Macedonia, it is required to present a valid Israeli driving license and passport, and additionally an international driving license (IDP) for drivers who do not hold an EU license. Suppliers like Europcar may require that the local license be valid for at least two years, and without it and the IDP, there may be refusal to deliver the car. A physical credit card in the name of the primary driver must also be presented for security.
What does the basic insurance package include, and what additional insurances are recommended?
When renting in North Macedonia through Auto Europe Israel, the rate usually includes CDW (collision damage waiver) and TP (theft protection) with deductible, as well as third-party liability coverage. There are usually exceptions for damages to windshields, tires, mirrors, undercarriage, and keys. You can upgrade to Super CDW to reduce or eliminate the deductible, add coverage for windshields/tires/mirrors, and purchase extended roadside assistance. Yes. An additional driver can be added during booking through Auto Europe Israel or at the Europcar desk in North Macedonia. The addition is usually per day for each additional driver and paid at the branch, and sometimes there are packages including one additional driver at no cost. What is the fuel policy - do I need to return the car with a full tank?
The common policy of Europcar in North Macedonia is full-to-full: you receive the car with a full tank and return it full. Failure to return it full may incur a charge for fuel and a refueling fee. Some rates may have Prepaid Fuel or Same-to-Same policies. The exact policy will be shown on the Auto Europe Israel reservation voucher. It is recommended to refuel close to the return and keep the receipt if needed.
