Get to know CDW/TP, deductible refund, and exclusions for tires, windows, and roof. Check local costs and whether credit card/external insurance coverage is accepted at the rental station.
Ensure a suitable credit card for security
A physical credit card in the main driver's name is required with credit limit for deposit. Debit/Prepaid cards are usually not accepted; ensure validity, PIN, and deposit release after return.
Check border restrictions and toll roads
Crossing countries requires approval and may involve charges; some areas are prohibited. Check vignette/toll, whether there is a device in the vehicle, how charges are applied, and keep receipts.
Coordinate pick-up and return times in advance
Pick-up/return outside working hours sometimes involves a fee. Confirm return location, grace period, delay policy, and document mileage, fuel, and damages at pickup and return.
