Ensure what the basic insurance covers, the amount of the excess, and how much it costs to cancel participation. Examine coverage for glass, tires, and towing, and compare costs before paying at the counter.
Understand the Fuel Policy
The full-to-full policy is usually the most cost-effective. Return the car full to avoid fines and expensive refueling fees. Keep a receipt from a nearby station to the return location.
Check Damages and Document Before Departure
Photograph the car from all sides, including rims and roof, and mark every scratch in the contract. Immediately report missing equipment to avoid charges after returning.
Check Age, Credit, and Boundary Restrictions
Ensure a physical credit card in the driver's name, age restrictions, and young driver fees. Check travel limits between countries/islands, toll roads, and mileage limits.
